Well I know I haven't done an update since February. SO much has been going on. Aryssa was switched to an older kid formula/medical food formula since she is still getting 100% of her nutrition through her tube. Well lets see she is now on her 3rd one since end of January and she is doing so much better. The first one she was showing allergic/intolerant signs towards. She was very congested and throwing up A LOT! 2nd formula was a flavored (grape) one and she was still throwing up a lot but we had to wait it out since it can take up to 3 weeks for the other formula to get out of her system. Well after the 5th week of throwing up (from the start of the 1st formula). I made several phone calls to see what we can go to. There aren't a lot of options out there if she isn't tolerating these. I had the idea of trying the "unflavored" kind of the 2nd one and WALLLA!.... so far so good. She is handling it so much better. She still will throw up occationally but that is because she is so active now and moves around too much and soon after/during her feedings.
Lets see what else has happened....she is crawling as of March 27th (see videos posted on 3-27) YAY! She went to the her first Zoo on the 27th as well. I will post a few pics from the Nashville Zoo. Oh I had finally made the decision to switch feeding therapist as the other one stressed me out and Aryssa and she was regressing in the feeding dept and therapist was blaming me and everything else she could think of. She started with her new therapist Gloria a couple of weeks ago and is doing so well. Gloria is so sweet to Aryssa and I think Aryssa really likes her...a lot better than the last one. She is doing so well in physical therapist but unfortunetly our physical therapist is moving at the end of April and there is a major shortage on pediatrics PT's here. I may have to drive her down to Nashville once a week after that since there is only 2 more in town and they are on a MAJOR waiting list. I am hoping if we stick with PT that she will be walking by the end of summer and we won't need to go anymore. Once she figures out how to do something she becomes a pro at it very fast.
Aryssa went to the doctor last Monday in Memphis to swap out her mic-key button...she has gained 3 pounds since she was last there on January 4th. She now weighs 20 lbs 4 ozs and is 29.25 inches long. She is really growing now.
That is all I can think of for right now. Now that she is crawling she keeps me pretty busy now on my toes to make sure she doesn't get into something that can hurt her. We are just baby proofing as she explores.
