Aryssa had developmental therapy today with Chrissie. This is the therapist that comes to the house once a week. She was so surprised on how happy Aryssa was. She was making so many cute sounds and new facial expressions. Chrissie was just in disbelief that Aryssa was so sick last week and now she is the happiest baby she has ever seen her be. She was so silly. We are still working with Aryssa on trying to get her to crawl which she still has not interest in. We can put her in position and she will rock back and forth a bit but no movements in her arms or legs to even resemble trying to crawl. We are also still trying to get her to hold 2 things one in each hand which she seems to not like to do. As well as try to bang two things together (like most babies do). We think it can only be because she has low upper muscle tone and maybe doesn't have the "strength"to do these things. She is still just a big mystery. I sometimes think she really knows how to do these things but chooses not to so that we go crazy. She is already testing our buttons, but we wouldn't have it any other way.
Aryssa gave Chrissie her present she helped Mommy pick out for her. When Chrissie walked in the door Aryssa had it in her lap and was chewing on it so Chrissie had to open a present with Aryssa drool all over it. Aryssa got her a Christmas photo frame with a bonus photo holder. When I was looking at things to get Chrissie, this is the one that Aryssa kept grabbing at so that is what we got her. Chrissie got her a book that has real pictures in it as opposed to cartoon pictures. She really likes the real pictures for some reason.
Tonight we had Daddy's birthday dinner. Rob turned 30 today. We had some friend's come over. Rob had requested homemade spaghetti and meatballs and I made him a marble cake with chocolate icing. Aryssa gave daddy some really nice (and expensive) cufflinks that have DAD engraved in the corner of each one. I thought Rob was about to cry because he just looked at them for a moment.... and then looked up and said "I get to have things that say dad on them now". I think he really liked them. I wished we could have done more for it being his 30th birthday but with Aryssa being sick we didn't feel comfortable with going anywhere.
