What a sick baby girl

Well it has been a rough couple of weeks due to having a very sick baby girl on hand. December 3rd she  started throwing up almost every feeding due to 2 teeth coming in. This seems to become a pattern when she is teething pretty bad. I had backed off her feedings and was supplementing pediatlyte because when she starts throwing up a lot like that she tends to get an ear infection. Low and behold had to take her to the doctor on  Tuesday, Dec. 8th and sure enough my preventions failed.. she had a double ear infection. It always starts with throwing up and then she develops a cough and that is when I know it is time to take her in. We started on antibiotics for 10 days.  She seemed to be alright with it so we decided to brave it and take her to go see Santa at Bass Pro Shop in Opry Mills Mall. She was such a good baby for having a double ear infection too. I think the picture came out pretty darn cute, especially for her first time meeting Santa Clause. She went right to him. Well things turned bad by Saturday, she woke up at 3 am screaming and coughing pretty bad. I was up with her for hours after that getting her to calm down which ended up her sleeping in bed with me snuggled. Well morning came and we took her temperature and it was 100.2 and that is high for her. She seemed to struggle breathing a bit which was kinda scary. Our pediatrician is luckily open for sick visits on Saturdays so they got us right in at 9 am. Well the doctor (not her regular pediatrician) listened to her and x-rayed her chest and did a flu test on her which came back negative.  Her lungs were clear but it showed inflammation which they then diagnosed her with broncholitus. While in the office we did a breathing treatment on her to see if she improved in her breathing, which it did. They gave us a breathing machine and prescribed her albuteral which I was to give her breathing treatments every 4 hours. Boy what a tiring night to wake her up every 4 hours for that. I had to continue to give her treatments until that Monday. Thank goodness she would only fight it for less than a minute when I had to put the mask on her face but once she took some good breaths in of the vapors she calmed right down and seems to relax a bit during the duration of the treatment (Thank God). She was so weak for about a week and a half so we had to cancel all of her therapies last week for the ear infections and then this week because of the broncholitus and it being contagious for about a week. She is back to her silly self again Praise the Lord. I was able to actually get some Christmas shopping done toward the end of last week. I was really starting to stress on how I was going to manage shopping for Christmas for Rob and plus for his birthday which is 2 days before Christmas. Now we are officially all ready for both occasions. We had her Christmas shopping done on the 5th so I just had Rob to shop for. I am so happy my baby girl is all better and we are all ready for her first Christmas. YAY!
